Berkshire-based non-profit Music In Common empowers diverse cultures and faiths to discover common ground through collaborative songwriting, multimedia, and performance.

#EmpowerYouthAgainstHate is a fundraising campaign to recoup funds from a $159,000 federal grant awarded to Music in Common by the Obama administration in January and then revoked by the Trump administration in June. The grant was for the continuation and expansion of programming to reduce tensions, hate, and violence between American teens of diverse backgrounds, including Muslim, Jewish, Christian, refugee, immigrant, and American-born.

Join Music in Common for the viewing of two short, powerful films, From Madness to Music and Amplified: Young Voices Rising, featuring youth whose lives have been changed by Music in Common programs. The films will be followed by a discussion with Music in Common founder & director, Todd Mack.

The event is free and open to the public. Donations are encouraged and can be made by check, cash, or credit card onsite or online at www.musicincommon.org/urgencyfundraiser.html.
