The hit public radio series Selected Shorts takes the stage at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center with an afternoon of festive stories filled with love, laughter, and nostalgia.

The stories are mostly fiction, sometimes classic, sometimes new, and always performed by great actors from stage and screen. With performances by Teagle F. Bougere, Jane Curtin, James Naughton, and Parker Posey!

Teagle F. Bougere is currently co-starring with Catherine Zeta-Jones in the new series Queen America. His Broadway credits include The Crucible, A Raisin in the Sun, and The Tempest. Additional theater credits include Is God Is at SoHo Rep, Beast in the Jungle, the title role in the stage adaptation of Ralph Ellison’s novel Invisible Man at The Court Theater in Chicago, The Studio Theatre in Washington, D.C., and The Huntington in Boston, Julius Caesar, Cymbeline, and Coriolanus for The Public Theater in Central Park, A Soldier’s Play at Second Stage, A Fair Country at Lincoln Center, Last Dance for Sybil at the New Federal Theatre, An Iliad at the Pittsburgh Public Theatre, and Joe Turner’s Come and Gone and Blue Door at Berkeley Rep. Bougere was a company member at Arena Stage for five seasons. His film and television credits include  Hill ‘n’ Gully, The Path, The Mist, Good Friday, Conviction, Cosby, The Job, Third Watch, Murder in Black and White, A Night at the Museum, The Imposters, The Pelican Brief, Two Weeks Notice, and What the Deaf Man Heard.

Jane Curtin has appeared on Broadway in Noises Off, Candida, and Our Town. Her off-Broadway work includes Love Letters and the musical revue Pretzels, which she co-wrote. She starred in the television series 3rd Rock from the Sun and won back-to-back Emmy Awards for her role on Kate & Allie. She is an original cast member of Saturday Night Live and also starred in the television film series The Librarian and its spin-off, The Librarians. Her film credits include Coneheads; Antz; I Love You, Man; I Don’t Know How She Does It; The Heat; The Spy Who Dumped Me; Can You Ever Forgive Me?; and Ode to Joy. She starred on the television series Unforgettable and has had guest appearances on The Good Wife, 48 Hours ’til Monday, The Good Fight, and Broad City. Curtin will appear in the forthcoming films Welcome to Pine Grove! and Never Too Late and the upcoming series United We Fall.  

James Naughton has won Tony Awards as Best Actor in a Musical for City of Angels and Chicago. On Broadway, he directed the Tony-nominated productions of Arthur Miller`s The Price and Thornton Wilder`s Our Town, starring Paul Newman. He also directed the television production of Our Town for Showtime and Masterpiece Theatre. He has appeared in numerous films and television shows, including The Devil Wears Prada, Damages, Gossip Girl, Ally McBeal, Planet of the Apes, Hostages, The Blacklist, The Affair, Equity, Odd Mom Out, The Tap, The Independents, and most recently The Romanoffs.

Parker Posey is an actress best known for her roles in independent films such as Dazed and Confused, Kicking and Screaming, The House of Yes, Broken English, and the Christopher Guest mockumentaries Best in Show, Waiting for Guffman, and A Mighty Wind. Additional film credits include You’ve Got Mail, Superman Returns, Scream 3, and Blade: Trinity. Her television credits include Will and Grace,The Good Wife, Granite Flats, and Search Party, and she currently stars in the Netflix series Lost in Space. In 2018, Posey published her first book, You’re on an Airplane: A Self-Mythologizing Memoir. She will appear in the forthcoming film Elsewhere and the series Bream Gives Me Hiccups.
